I&CS – Case StudyChallenge: An engineer wanted to create a more user-friendly environment for operating the plant’s systems. Solution: RMI created three-dimensional graphics for the plant screens. 3-D modeling of plant subsystems allowed operators to visually image the current process and immediately recognize which part of the plant they were viewing. The 3-D graphics made the transition from pushbutton control consoles to a plant SCADA system faster and more comfortable. The 3-D graphics enhanced the visitor experience, also. Tours of the new facility, which began in the operator control room with a viewing of the 3-D models, provided guests with an experience that was memorable, educational and easily understood. |
